The Stanley cup

Yesterday the Stanley cup came to Roseau, Minnesota. Dustin Byflugien brought it. He played for the champion Chicago Blackhawks last season. Now he has been traded to Atlanta. Though he moved away from Roseau before high school and never played with the mighty Roseau Rams, he did grow up in Roseau and learned to play hockey through their youth hockey program. Though it was cold [about 65 degrees] and windy and raining, there was a parade through Roseau streets yesterday. Then the crowd went to the arena. When Dustin skated out on the ice and saw that the whole town was there it was pretty emotional. We missed it. Our church was having it's annual joint picnic with our sister church from Baudette. It had to be inside because of the weather. I also missed seeing the news report last night about Dustin and the Stanley cup because I was all wrapped up in a Margaret O'Brien movie on Turner Classic Movies. My parents always said that I strongly resembled Margaret. So I got my information about the event from Minnesota Public Radio this morning.
